What to Expect During a HydraFacial™

At DrSkin, your HydraFacial™ is done in a private space, where you can relax throughout the treatment. Each HydraFacial takes around 45-75 minutes. If a consultation has not yet been conducted, one of our skin specialists with assess your skin and present some options for your treatment. Every HydraFacial is done in steps, which may include cleansing, exfoliation, pore extraction, moisturizing, and more. Since these steps are personalized, each session may look and feel a little different.

Once your HydraFacial™ is complete, you are welcome to go back to work. There may be some mild redness, but there is minimal discomfort. Within a couple of days, you will see visible enhancements to your skin. After 3-7 days, the best results are seen. To maintain these results, we recommended revisiting the office every 4-6 weeks.

What are the Side Effects of a HydraFacial™?

One of the reasons HydraFacial™ is a popular option is the few side effects. With zero downtime and minimal risk, HydraFacial is among the best ways to rejuvenate your complexion. You can expect a bit of redness post-treatment, but that discoloration will subside quickly.

It is important that you give your skin time to rest after the treatment. Avoid wearing makeup for one day post-treatment. Afterwards, you can resume your usual skincare routine. Be sure to add some SPF in there as well, since your skin may be a bit more sensitive to sun damage after your HydraFacial.

Who Should Get a HydraFacial™?

You should! HydraFacial™ uses ingredients that take well to every skin type, tone, and color. There are only a few exceptions, including those with active rashes and sun damage. If you have a flare up of acne, for example, you may want to wait until it has calmed down. Sunburns, rosacea, and other skin conditions will need to be assessed by a technician to clear you for treatment. Additionally, pregnant and nursing women should abstain from getting a HydraFacial for the time being.
