At Dr. Skin, we have many treatments and technologies that use radiofrequency energy. truSculpt® iD is one of those devices. Non-surgical and non-invasive, truSculpt® iD offers a quick and easy solution to permanent body fat removal.
How Does truSculpt® iD Work?
The innovative technology of truSculpt® iD uses a monopolar radiofrequency (RF) energy to target fat cells, reducing their size or removing them completely, to develop a more contoured physique. The RF energy is super-heated, and that heat is used to permanently rid you of stubborn fat cells. Simultaneously, loose skin is firmed and cellulite disappears. After your procedure, the heated fat cells gradually break down. Your body will flush them out.
Up to 24% of the fat cells in the targeted area can be removed using truSculpt® iD.

What to Expect During a truSculpt® iD Treatment
Before you are cleared for any treatment, the team at Dr. Skin meets with you during a consultation. Once we have discussed your options, we tailor a plan to your specific needs, including removing your unwanted fat. If truSculpt® iD is an option, you can expect multiple sessions, particularly if large areas are being treated.
During the appointment, up to six patches of skin about 6 square inches in size can be treated during a single 15 minute session. The truSculpt® iD machine uses both precision hand-held devices and pads attached to the skin. Heat is pushed through the hand-held or the pads, targeting the fat and helping the cells break down naturally.
The best part? Zero downtime. Sit for your truSculpt® iD treatment then go shopping or head back to work. You can jump right back into your life without a problem.
You will start to see results within 1-2 weeks from the initial appointment. Depending on the number of treatments involved and their duration, you will begin to see the final results around 8-12 weeks post-treatment.
Pre-Treatment Tips
- Make sure your skin is clean prior to your appointment. Avoid lotions, self-tanners, and other products that could interfere with the device.
- Remove piercings.
- Shave any targeted areas.
Post-Treatment Tips
Although there is no downtime, you will want to do the following:
- Avoid extreme temperatures. Do not bathe in an overly hot shower, sit in a sauna, or take an ice bath.
How Long Do The Results Last?
The magic of the truSculpt® iD machine is that it permanently breaks up fat cells. These cells, once removed, cannot come back. As such, you can enjoy truly long-term benefits, including more tone and smoother skin.
Who is a Good Candidate for truSculpt® iD?
Anyone who has unwanted fat that can be pinched is a good candidate for truSculpt® iD. This system works for those who live both active and sedentary lifestyles. Depending on your aesthetic goals and how much you want to tone up, you can sit for more than one truSculpt® iD session. Furthermore, truSculpt® iD can be used on many skin types and colors. Tattoos are also no problem.
That said, there are some conditions that could make you ineligible. For instance, if you have an implanted pacemaker, defibrillator, or some kind of electronic implant, insulin pump, and a time-released medication device, this is not for you. Any metal in your body can affect the truSculpt® iD system. Lastly, truSculpt® iD is not recommended for use on those who are pregnant or breastfeeding.
