What Does Skin Tightening Do?

Skin tightening can utilize technologies like ultrasound and radiofrequency (RF) treatments. RF treatments focus on the epidermal—or deep-layers of skin to smooth, tighten, and boost your skin so that it looks younger. By targeting the deeper layers of skin with a temperature over 115°F, heat-shock proteins are released and prompts collagen to get to work.

Our skin tightening treatment promotes sustained results that get better over time. Once collagen and elastin has been stimulated, the skin tightening will continue for months until the final result is achieved.

What To Expect During a Skin Tightening Session

On the day of your appointment, you will check in and get settled. Your friendly technician will go over the process with you before starting. Skin tightening is non-invasive, so anesthetics are not needed. Your technician will bring over a wand that is connected to the skin-tightening device and pass it over the skin undergoing treatment. You will feel a little heat as the skin-tightening wand starts to work.

Depending on how much of an area you are having treated, the session may be about 30 minutes per area.

In many cases, the treatment takes less than an hour and requires no downtime, allowing you to go about your day as usual immediately after. The procedure is crafted to be comfortable and has a soothing sensation similar to that of a hot stone massage.

How Long Do Results Last?

Results are usually noticeable right away. Generally, the results of a skin tightening treatment improve overtime, for about 6 months post-treatment. The best results will last for about a year. To maintain your youthful appearance and prevent skin laxity, we recommend maintenance treatments for ongoing tightness.

Who Is a Candidate For Skin Tightening?

Since our skin tightening treatment is non-surgical, it is available to a large number of people. Those who have mild or moderate skin laxity will see the best results. Additionally, while the side effects of skin tightening are usually not severe, it may not be best for individuals who are pregnant, have certain medical conditions (those with pacemakers and internal defibrillators are ineligible), or are taking certain prescription medications.
